ANNOUNCEMENT OF A NEW SERIES OF LECTURES OF EMAEM
The Board of Directors of EMAEM is pleased to announce the new series of lectures for the Academic Year 2024-2025 that will take place in the welcoming space of the Society of Friends of the People (M. Benefactors Hall), at 12 Evripidou Street, Athens (1st floor).
The Board of Directors would like to express his thanks to the Management of the Society of Friends of the People and personally to the President Professor of EKPA, Mr. Angelos Angelopoulos for the positive response to our request to hold the EMAEM lectures in their own space, as they are addressed to the general public with the aim of promoting knowledge to all 'The People', which is in full agreement with the aims of the Society of Friends of the People.
Also, the Board of Directors expresses his thanks to the TV Internet Channel 'Fryktorias' for our continuous cooperation, the audio-visual coverage (videoscoping) and viewing of the EMAEM lectures.
The lectures will take place on Friday at 6.30-8.30 pm.
The scheduled lectures are as follows:
27/9/2024: Xenophon Mousas (Professor EKPA): 'The Mechanism of Antikythera and the Olympic Games'
25/10/2024: X. Stavridis (Researcher, Author): 'Perfect State: Utopia or Political Goal' and book launch (by the same author): 'Music and Politics'.
The book will be discussed by: Professors St. Papamarinopoulos and X. Spyridis, President & Vice-President of EMAEM respectively and the Historian and Archaeologist Mr. E. Bexis, Representative of 'EVANDROS' Publications. View event details and a summary of the lecture.
29/11/2024: Ad. Samson (Professor, University of the Aegean): 'The Mesolithic period in the Aegean (9th-8th millennium BC) and the transition to the Early Neolithic (early 7th millennium BC)'
13/12/2024: M. Danezis (Member of the Body of Emeritus Professors of EKPA): 'The Greek Roots of a Modern Cosmological Proposal - From Democritus to Riemann'
17/1/2025: M. Papathanasiou (Professor Emeritus of EKPA): 'Orpheus and Eurydice: Historicity of Persons and Interpretation of the Myth'
