Object - Aims of the Museum & the "Society..."

From the operating regulations of the Atlantis Museum & the statute of the "Society for the Promotion of Museum Atlantis", we publish article 2 which includes the purposes for which the Museum and the "Society..." operated.

The purposes of Museum

The Atlantis Museum has charitable purposes, spiritual, cultural, scientific, educational, etc. These are namely:

  1. The concentration of all kinds of objects, finds and texts that remind or related to Atlantis, the heroes of this and its emblems and their effect, since ancient times, in art, in research, genetrelly in science and in any other activity of people (shipping, trade, industry, etc.) and the preservation and exposure continuously to adequate housing.
  2. The promotion of the study of the topic of the tribe of Atlanteans and other related tribes of Atlantis and their descendants, in terms of anthropological, geographical, historical, archaeological and scientific.

  3. The study, in particular, of the relations between Greeks and Atlanteans. The comparison and interpretation of legends about Atlantis and associated myths with the traditions and beliefs of the descendants of Atlanteans and neighboring peoples and tribes and coupling them with the history and the real facts, it is the timeless view of the Atlantis Museum.

  4. Encouraging research on the discovery of Atlantis and the enrichment of the museum exhibits with objects which remind of it.

  5. To contribute to the placement of myths and vague events in prehistoric times, related to the whole issue of Atlantis, in the history of the old chronological numbering. 

Figure 2 shows the title and seal of the Atlantis Museum, which was founded in 1980 by Mr. Vassilis Th. Paschos. It has the shape of a circle cut from the bottom in a straight line, the title is semicircular (ATLANTIS MUSEUM), and below, in two rows, it had the inscription "1980 VAS. TH. PASCHOU"

Figure 3 shows the seal that the "Society..." had, which is round, bearing its name in a circle, in the center the image of Atlas holding the sphere on his shoulders. Left-Right the numbers 19-82 (founding year of the "Society...") and below the word ATHENS.

The purposes of the Association

From the statute of the "Society", I briefly state the purposes of the Society for the Promotion of Museum Atlantis" in accordance with article 2:

  1. The recognition and promotion of the Museum of Atlantis founded on the private initiative of the author and researcher Vassilis Th. Paschos
  2. The installation and operation of the Atlantis Museum in a suitable Public or Municipal building in Athens
  3. The strengthening, by any legal means, of the Museum and the collection of all kinds of objects, findings and texts, related to Atlantis, its history, its myth-story, the legends and traditions around it and its heroes
  4. The promotion of the study, historical, archaeological and scientific in general, of the subject of Atlantis as well as the researches for its discovery.
  5. The revival of the interest of the public, Greek and International, on the subject of Atlantis, with publications, lectures, announcements, radio and television shows, screenings, publication of various publications, photographs, slides, cassettes, etc.
